Experts have called for rethinking security around the world airport following the suicide bombings at Ataturk International airport in Istanbul.

The requests reflect the increased risk of terrorist attacks across Europe, with seven countries across the continent currently considered “high risk” by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office such as a new map reveals the terrorist threat.

Ataturk reopened for flights and departures only hours after three suicide bombers killed 50 people and wounded 147 last night, but the incident showed how International airports are now seen as “easy targets” for ISIS.

17 million Britons visit France each year for holidays or business, but the FCO scored the country to high risk of terrorism incidents and warned visitors to be extremely vigilant.

because of constant threats to France by Islamic terrorist groups and the recent French military intervention against ISIS, the French government had to strengthen its security measures.

During the Euro 2016 stadiums, fan zones, the venues of the tournament and transport hubs and links all represent potential targets for terrorist attacks .

A national state of emergency will remain in place until July 26, to cover the period of the tournament and other major events such as the cycling race the Tour de France .

They say that local police operations are ongoing and there have been a number of police raids and arrests, including June 17, about the past and possible terrorist attacks.

security operations are likely to be made in the short term, with savvy Brits to stay alert, stay away from crowded places and follow the instructions of the Belgian authorities .

Spain is a destination very popular holiday for Britons, with more than 12 million visit the country each year.

But the FCO has listed the country as “high” risk of terrorism for two reasons, firstly ISIS and secondly the Basque separatist movement.

There is nothing, however, that the Basque terrorist organization ETA has been less active in recent years and has not mounted attacks since 2009, with the organization announcing ” definitive cessation of armed activity “in October 2011.

in the wake of the attacks yesterday, Frank Brehany, director of consumer HolidayTravelWatch, called the travel industry and the government for more consistent security information for holidaymakers

He said:. “The shocking events at Istanbul airport is an unpleasant reminder that the horrific events of Brussels Airport have attracted worldwide to rethink the security of the airport.

Brussels Airport has now deployed more zoning around its perimeter and such major action is required at all airports worldwide. ”

Director of International Security Studies, Raffaello Pantucci, international airports brand a “soft target” for terrorists -. describing them as the “arteries of the planet”

Talking to MailOnline Travel, Pantucci said that by targeting an international airport, the terrorists are “breaking ties” as the airports are a “materially the world is connected.”

he also said he believed it was time for the security of the airport to be upgraded worldwide .

Pantucci said: “Airports have always been easy targets for terrorist groups. They represent aviation and aviation represents transport.

Aviation is one of the main arteries of the planet, it is how the world is connected. By striking an airport, terrorists strike the international economy and they know they are guaranteed to attract attention – and there will be people present.

international airports connect the economy and targeting them, the terrorists break the links.

The attack of “Last night in Istanbul appears to have occurred near the security. It seems that the bombers also beyond the security checkpoints, then launched the attack.

‘That leaves us wondering if we need to further security. Some places have security even before you arrive at the airport.

“We must ask ourselves whether the time has come to push it further, some places even check cars when they arrive.

“There are additional expenses and it is an inconvenience, but we need to think if it is necessary. Aviation is a terrorist target, so the threat is now so high that we have to push our security?

Terrorism expert Anthony Richards said MailOnline Travel: “Any place where there are gatherings of people and where there is no entry security is likely to be a soft and vulnerable target.

“Although the bollards could be placed outside the airport buildings to prevent access vehicles, people with weapons could still have access to public spaces that are not airside.

‘If this attack was conducted by Isis these objectives could be of interest for them because they are international targets – where it broadens the impact on others is also likely that targeting the airport ‘victim countries “

.’ was intended to cause severe damage to the tourism industry of Turkey.

Intelligence is the key to respond to terrorism and preempt terrorist attacks but unfortunately it can not be part of the answer because the intelligence agencies can not prevent. Public vigilance is also essential so that would-be authors are preferably identified even before going to the airport.

“An increased presence visible military could have a deterrent effect against gun attacks, but they can not deter suicide bombers or even gunmen with little consideration for their own lives. Unfortunately, you can never have complete security.

Brehany added: “I think it might -being time for the holidays in general insurance companies offer travel Travel Risk Intelligence, as indeed some do it for business travelers, so that consumers can benefit from this valuable source of information.

‘by government, airport and business opportunities that take these actions, this will lead to greater consumer confidence and respect for their inability to be able to fully assess the risk of security problems for themselves and their families; it really is time to have this conversation come about travel safety

“It is useless to simply offer the mantra ‘we must not give in to terror’ ‘. actions must be demonstrable, and so then they can add time and inconvenience to our schedules, most people accept that it is a small price to pay for peace of mind, but also to thwart criminal attempts kill or injure innocent people.

A holder spokesman for the World tourism Organisation said: “Today, we were reminded again that we are facing a global threat that requires a strong and coordinated response by all governments and the international community

. “Mr. Rifai recalled that safety and security is a priority for the tourism sector and that the sector is targeted as a pillar of the economy and livelihoods in many countries.

‘He called on the international tourism community to stand by Turkey to face this challenge and reminded that sometimes that “we need to cooperate and not to isolate the affected destinations. ”

“Turkey is a tourist destination leading and we are confident he will continue to be; now is the time to support Turkey.
